  • How do you register? And how long does it take to register?
    Our registration process is very simple and easy to use and should take you approximately 5 to 10 minutes.

    • Then check your email for an e-mail from Shiaspouse with a link.

  • Can a parent or guardian or someone else register on the website in place of the actual person who is looking for a spouse?
    Yes. When you register you will be asked to state how you are related to the person for whom you are looking for a spouse.
  • What is a screen name?
    A screen name is the name you give yourself on the website. We recommend that you choose one to fit your personality. The purpose of this is to protect your identity and it gives you privacy to interact with other members with confidence.
  • Will my date of birth and actual name be shown to other users?
    No. This information will remain private and is only for registration purposes. Your age however will be shown on your profile.
  • Is it necessary to complete the profile after finishing registration?
    NO, but we would strongly encourage you to complete your profile. An unfinished profile gives a blurred picture of you as a person. A completed profile will give you a greater chance of portraying your true personality. A completed profile also shows that you are serious in your search for a spouse. Further, each profile is highlighted with a scale of how much of your profile is completed. If your profile is half complete it may deter others from expressing an interest in you.

    When you complete your profile you are eligible for a ShiaSpouse SEAL which is a step further in demonstrating your niyat (intention) of being on the website to find a spouse. More details of the ShiaSpouse SEAL are on the ShiaSpouse SEAL help section.
  • How many sections are there in the profile?
    There are 5 sections in the profile:
    • BASIC
    • DEEN
    • BACKGROUND
    • WAY OF LIFE
    • MARRIAGE
    • UPLOADING YOUR IMAGE(optional)
  • Are the questions in the profile lengthy? How long will they take to answer?
    NO, the questions are not lengthy. Most of the questions are with multiple choice answers to make it easier for you. In each section there are one or two questions which require you to write a descriptive answer. Descriptive answers may be more revealing and help a prospective partner learn more about you as an individual.
  • Can I edit my profile again? How do I do this?
    YES. This can be done anytime. Please follow the steps below:
    • Simply log in and click on edit profile which can be found under your screen name on the light blue bar.
    • Then click on edit profile,
    • Select which section you want to edit,
    • Make the changes and press save settings.

Our motto stems from the famous Hadith of our Holy Prophet Mohammed (sa) – ‘when the servant (person) gets married, he has completed half of his faith, so let him be careful of his duty to Allah in the remaining half’. Our purpose is therefore to facilitate you to find your compatible Shiamatch.

We do not want to stop at match making but want to go beyond that and play a part in building strong families in our community. Hence we hope to provide our Shia boys and Shia girls and those who endeavour in making their relationship strong and eternal with the teachings of our Ahul Bait (as) expounded through our respected Islamic scholars.
