Safety tips to adhere to when meeting your prospective spouse for the first time

As a minimum we trust that by now:
- You are communicating with a member who as a minimum threshold has secured for him or herself a ShiaSpouse SEAL
- You have communicated clearly and at length with the person you are going to meet and now feel that there is a real
possibility of Inshallah both of you getting married
- You would have involved your parents or trusted friend in your decision to meet up with your potential spouse
for the first meeting:
Try to makearrangements for your families to meet
If the familiescannot meet in the first meeting take a chaperon. It’s not advisable to meet alone.
Let someone at homeknow of your meeting and your whereabouts
Give them the relevant contact details of the other person you are going to meet
Arrange your meeting in a public place
Arrange your own transport to where ever you have decided to meet and back
Take a mobile phoneand make sure you are reachable by your family member and friends at all times during the meeting
Do not feel pressuredto meet; you can always change your mind and reschedule
