It has been an incredible journey for us; in developing what we believe to be and hope would be recognised as an authentic platform for facilitating, promoting and nurturing marriage and family life.

The ShiaSpouse team is a diverse team of individuals from different professional backgrounds and experiences who have come together in making ShiaSpouse.com. Professionally we are a team of people from the arts, humanities, social care, business and technological backgrounds. Personally, one of our team members searched for his spouse online and through their experience felt that the process of finding a spouse online can be made more private and secure. Another team member is raising a young family and identifies with the need for understanding and compatibility in a marriage in order to make children feel safe and loved, and for the need of scholarly guidance and advice on marriage and family life. Our individual life experiences of either searching for a spouse or raising a family is what inspired us to come together and create a secure and Islamic principled website for finding a spouse online.

We have worked for over a year in developing this platform and during this time have reached out and taken on board comments and advice from religious scholars, community elders and individuals.
ShiaSpouse has reached out to over 40 Islamic centres globally during its research in developing the website and their responses point to a need for an authentic medium for members of the community to use to find their suitable match.
